What Is A MyMedLab Consult (watch video)

This new feature, what we call 30 Minutes with the Expert, includes a one-on-one conversation with a expert in a specific area of health. The expert you speak with is based on the specific test result requiring your attention. There may be more than one review available with each test order.

Once you have purchased a review, you can choose the time to speak with the expert directly from their schedule. Your conversation is captured in an audio file and placed in your personal health record (PHR) alongside your results. You can replay the conversation as many times as you need to understand the health information it contains.

We have joined with other next-generation health technologies to provide services across the Private Health Corp's network. This new type of connection between question and answer is changing the way we learn new things. Your feedback is incredibly valuable to our efforts and I encourage you to share them with me directly by email or phone.

What It Is NOT

It is NOT A replacement for the services of your Primary Care Physician. This 15-minute telephone consultation is intended to help you better understand your results, answer simple health questions and develop a plan to move forward.

While it CAN NOT provide a diagnosis or recommend any specific treatment from a single lab report, it may discuss values requiring a followup up with your personal physician. It will also allow you to fax a copy of your results directly to their office if you choose to make it part of your permanent medical record.

You understand that if you suspect a medical problem or condition, you need to contact your personal physician or other qualified medical provider immediately. YOU SHOULD NEVER DISREGARD MEDICAL ADVICE OR DELAY IN SEEKING IT DUE TO INFORMATION PROVIDED DURING YOUR CONSULTATION.

Before you choose the time for your conversation, you will be asked to complete a short health history. Your answers here are combined with your lab results to provide the expert with the most accurate picture of your health. The more specific you can be, the better quality service they can provide.

This information is not sold, shared or used for ANY PURPOSE other than giving the expert the best information to help you. Once the conversation is complete, you have the option of unchecking any answer in your Medical History tab and permanently deleting it from your record.
